Black Sheep Contemporary is thrilled to present a joyful, family-friendly concert series featuring the world premiere of Frizz the Sheep, a charming new work for chamber ensemble and narrator. With music by Nicole DeMaio and text by author Elle Michael River, this delightful story follows Frizz, a clarinet-playing sheep who dreams of standing out from the flock. When disaster strikes and the music for The Little Lamb Band is swept away, it’s up to Frizz and his unique sound to save the day!
Each performance will also include fun and educational activities for young audience members, including coloring pages illustrated by Sofie Bettaieb. Kids can let their creativity shine by imagining Frizz in any style — will your Frizz have rainbow stripes or polka-dot wool?
The program will also feature Let’s Meet the Clarinets by Billy Novackand a live poetry reading, and interactive instrument demonstrations designed to inspire curiosity and creativity in children and adults alike.
This project is made possible in part by the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund.
